About The Position

Imagene is seeking to hire a Bioinformatician to join our Science Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in cancer research and diagnostics through the convergence of science, medicine and state-of-the-art technologies.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work with code (Python, Jupyter Notebooks) and biological data, combining computational rigor with scientific curiosity.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute advanced bioinformatics analyses of high-throughput sequencing data, including NGS and RNA expression datasets, using state-of-the-art computational methods.
  • Interpret complex biological data to generate clinically actionable insights, with a strong focus on oncology and translational research.
  • Guide decisions related to data analysis, interpretation, and presentation by integrating biological and clinical knowledge with computational insights, ensuring relevance for AI-based clinical related products.
  • Run, test, and adapt existing computational and AI pipelines for new biological datasets and projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the AI and Data Science team to integrate pipeline updates, resolve technical issues and improve usability.
  • Generate well-documented, reproducible Jupyter notebooks and comprehensive analytical reports summarizing methodologies, results, and biological interpretations.

Requirements

  • PhD in biomedical, bioinformatics or related fields.
  • Knowledge in computational genomics and bioinformatics.
  • Scientific understanding of the oncology field, with a particular focus on cancer genetics and genomics.
  • Translational research experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience .
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to details.
  • Proven experience in Python including experience with Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy and Pytorch.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and workflow management tools— advantage.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial studies / biomarker studies in the biopharmaceutical/diagnostics industry — advantage.
  • Experience working with publicly available datasets such as TCGA — advantage.
