About The Position

We're looking for an accomplished scientific leader to serve as the Head of Pharma Programs. This individual will lead Imagene’s Translational Science & Pharma Programs team and operations and oversee the execution of our collaborative research programs with biopharmaceutical, academic and healthcare partners.

The role is a hands-on operation role responsible for translating partner objectives and complex biological questions into well-designed, AI-scientific programs. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end leadership across project conception, study design, model-development alignment, analysis, interpretation and scientific communication.

This leader will ensure the rigorous execution of scientific programs. The successful candidate will work closely with biopharmaceutical, academic and healthcare partners, while collaborating internally with Data Science, Product and Operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Imagene’s scientific operations, including the scientific team, collaborative research programs and cross-functional execution of partner projects.
  • Lead and manage the scientific team, establishing clear responsibilities, development pathways and a culture of scientific rigor, accountability and collaboration.
  • Lead collaborative projects with biopharmaceutical, academic and healthcare partners, ensuring strong alignment with partner objectives, clinical relevance and Imagene’s technological capabilities.
  • Provide scientific oversight, from defining the biological and clinical rationale and designing the study through data collection, cohort definition, endpoint selection, analysis, interpretation and final delivery.


Requirements

  • MD or PhD or in life sciences, biomedical sciences or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics or healthcare technology industries, including significant experience in translational medicine, drug development, biomarker research or clinical science.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated operations experience leading scientific teams and managing complex, multidisciplinary programs.
  • Strong record of leading external collaborations with biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, healthcare organizations or research consortia.
  • Deep understanding of oncology, translational research, biomarker development and the drug-development process.
  • Experience designing and overseeing clinical, translational or biomarker studies, including cohort definition, endpoint selection, data interpretation and scientific reporting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and demonstrated ability to integrate clinical, pathological, molecular and computational findings.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to scientific, clinical, technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with artificial intelligence, digital pathology, computational biology or data-driven healthcare products.
  • Experience interpreting genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic or other multi-omics data.
