About The Position

Imagene is seeking a highly qualified Medical Director with expertise in molecular diagnostics and AI applications for cancer and biomarkers. This pivotal role will report directly to the CEO and be preferably based on the east coast of the United States. The successful candidate will possess a strong medical background, clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of the molecular diagnostics industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and strategic guidance in the development, implementation, and validation of molecular diagnostics and AI applications for cancer and biomarkers.
  • Serve as the primary medical expert within the organization, providing clinical insights, expertise, and guidance on product development, clinical studies, and regulatory compliance in the molecular diagnostics field.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure the clinical validity and utility of molecular diagnostics products, specifically focused on cancer and biomarkers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, payers, medical centers, laboratories, and other healthcare providers in the molecular diagnostics and precision oncology fields.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in molecular diagnostics, genomics, AI technologies, and precision oncology to inform product development strategies and stay at the forefront of the industry.
  • Lead and oversee the design and execution of clinical studies and trials to generate robust clinical evidence supporting the efficacy and utility of molecular diagnostics products in the context of cancer and biomarkers.
  • Interpret and analyze clinical data to validate the performance and accuracy of molecular diagnostics assays, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
  • Provide medical support and expertise to the sales and marketing teams, including participation in customer meetings, educational events, and scientific conferences related to molecular diagnostics and AI applications for cancer and biomarkers.
  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs and compliance teams to ensure adherence to applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines in the development and commercialization of molecular diagnostics products.
  • Act as a key spokesperson and thought leader, representing Imagene in medical and scientific forums, industry conferences, and expert panels focused on molecular diagnostics and precision oncology.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD) with active medical licensure and board certification in a relevant specialty. Must be Pathologist or Oncologist.
  • Vast experience in successfully design and execute medical device clinical studies and trials up to product launch.
  • Substantial clinical experience, preferably in oncology or a related field, with a deep understanding of molecular diagnostics and precision medicine.
  • Proven track record of leadership and success in a medical director or similar role within the molecular diagnostics industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of molecular biology, genomics, and molecular diagnostics technologies, including AI applications.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape, clinical trial design, and validation processes for molecular diagnostics products in the context of cancer and biomarkers.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex scientific and clinical data specific to molecular diagnostics.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate medical concepts to diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in the molecular diagnostics and precision oncology fields.
  • Publications or scientific contributions in the field of molecular diagnostics and precision oncology, particularly in relation to cancer and biomarkers, are highly advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to engage with key opinion leaders, attend conferences, and support business activities related to molecular diagnostics and AI applications for cancer and biomarkers.
